BIM calculates and shows every member of the construction team how many light fixtures are going to be needed to illuminate a space receiving little sunlight. It figures out how a change in wall color matches up against the carpeting that’s on order. Even more important, it figures out how a proposed change will affect subcontractor costs and scheduling.
